We were growing in numbers of runners steadily with just under 200 signed up, but needed a minimum of 500 runners for Beat the Baton in order to make the event a financial success for Sue Ryder Care.
Every event we run is monitored with milestones to ensure investment in fundraising delivers vital funds for the charity. After careful consideration of all the viable options, postponing Beat the Baton was deemed the most appropriate action in the best interests of the charity. Sue Ryder Care is still very positive about Beat the Baton and is looking to re-invigorate this unique event for the future.

Thanks to all of you that completed our Beat the Baton Survey to help shape our 2009 event. Congratulations to Michelle Hilbrands who won the draw for a bottle of champagne and free entry to next year's event.
