Ride for Ryder

Bronte Big K Mountain Bike Challenge

A Ride for Ryder Bike Ride

Choose from three routes of varying difficulty through beautiful Bronte Country.

The Charlotte: a 31mile extreme challenge route starting at Oxenhope recreation Ground.  Registration from 8:15, group start at 9am followed by staggered starts until 9:30 am.  Route goes over the moors to Widdop, around to historic Wycoller and back via Stanbury.

The Emily: An intermediate route of 21 miles. The route largely follows that of the 'Charlotte but takes a short cut from Widdop reservoir to Shuttleworth Pasture which cuts 10 miles off the distance. Starts at Oxenhope recreation ground. Registration from 8.15am, group start at 9am followed by staggered starts until 9.30am.

The Anne: A family fun, beginners ride of less rugged terrain of approximately 11 miles in a scenic loop towards Haworth, Cullingworth and  Harecroft. Mainly a road route with some lumps and bumps but suitable for the family and younger children as well, (children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult).  Starting at Oxenhope recreation Ground.  Registration from 9:30, group start at 10:00am.

Pre registration advised: Entry cost of £25 for individuals in the Charlotte and the Emily and £25 for families in the Anne.

Each rider will receive a Special Ride for Rider medal, a sponsor form, refreshments along the routes and a well deserved complementary meal at the event finish point, the Bay Horse Inn in Oxenhope.

Limited registration available on the day at the cost of £30.

In 2009, the 450 participants in the Bronte Big K Mountain Bike Challenge raised £15,000 for Sue Ryder Care – Manorlands Hospice.  To raise such a large amount we rely on many riders raising sponsorship therefore we’re asking that as many riders as possible raise as much sponsorship money as they can for Sue Ryder Care for 2010.

Set up an online sponsorship page or download a sponsorship form and start raising funds.
