More than 400 Run for Fun on Boxing Day

More than 400 people, including keen athletes as well as families and fun runners, at the start of this year's Boxing Day Fun Run at Leckhampton Court Hospice.

Sponsored by local companies Midwinters Solicitors, Martin & Co., Creed Catering Supplies, Print by Design and Target Direct, this was the 25th Fun Run around the local Leckhampton roads.

Those with lots of energy opted for the four-mile route, whilst others took it more gently on the two-mile circuit. And while most wrapped up warmly, others ran in fancy dress and tinsel.

Jo Partridge, Area Fundraising Manager, said “I am delighted by how many people joined us for our 25th Boxing Day Fun Run, and should like to thank everyone – participants, supporters, sponsors, staff and volunteers – who made it such a good day. This is the first year we have insisted on pre-registration and it will take a bit of time for people to get used to the new arrangements, but this is brilliant and we hope to encourage even more participants next year. Although it was hard work we all enjoyed ourselves – it was a great day with a lovely atmosphere!”
