We are challenging BAE Systems employees to complete the 25,000 mileage around the circumference of the globe. Each site has been given a mileage according to the number of employees on site.

How do you complete the challenge?

Ride for Ryder

These events are designed to encourage people to hop aboard the transport of their choice sponsored by friends and family. This can range from a hot air balloon, or taking the bus instead of the car for a week or even race on a long-forgotten space-hopper.

Beat the Baton, Sue Ryder Care Cup (golf), running and challenge events can be used to contribute to their mileage.

Themed fundraising

As an alternative to sports based events, employees can use their site’s destination as a theme for fundraising activity.

For example:

• Greek Gods and Goddesses – fancy dress days, toga party, balls,
• Greek food – banquets, wine tasting, moussaka cook off,
• Olympics – community fete, welly flinging, running, bike ride, swimming, egg and spoon racesIsland life – beach party, angling competition, surfing challenge
• Sports – sailing, sponsored swim, dragon boat racing,
• Mount Olympus – trekking challenge, mountain of donated goods.
• Greek Comedy and tragedy – hold a play, karaoke, pantomime, comedy night
• Greek sculpture and art – join our art liberating lives competition, hold an exhibition or auction
• Blue and white flag – colour themed fancy dress, ball or dress down day.
