Donating shares could cost you less than giving cash

Did you know that donating shares to Sue Ryder Care could cost you less than giving cash?

There are many ways in which you can donate to Sue Ryder Care, but a gift of shares in a public company is probably the most effective method of giving if you are a serious donor. With over 11 million people in the UK owning shares, it's a wonder that more of you aren't aware of the benefits of donating in this way.

Not only is it easy to do, but donating shares to Sue Ryder Care is one of the most tax-efficient ways that you can help us. This is because you receive two tax credits: a capital gains tax credit and an income tax credit at your marginal rate. With the capital gains tax credit, this simply means that you pay no capital gains tax, but the income tax credit can have a highly valuable impact.

You can find out more by visiting http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/charities/giving-land.htm

Your shares could make a huge difference to Sue Ryder Care. If £50 can pay for seven hours of compassionate care, just think how a gift of shares from you could enable those in our care to get the best from life, whatever their condition. By donating your shares to Sue Ryder Care you can help put back what conditions like cancer, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and stroke, take away - reassurance, self-esteem, comfort, freedom.

If you'd like to donate to Sue Ryder Care in this way or would just like to find out a little more about the gift of shares, please contact Craig on 07920 711 158 or email him at craig.linton@suerydercare.org
