Change lives - sponsor a viillage in Malawi

Sponsoring a village is a fantastic and effective way to help people who need it most and will give you a personal connection to a rural community in Malawi.

Sue Ryder Care works to meet the needs of disabled children and adults living without basic healthcare.  Our local nursing, rehabilitation and education teams provide villagers with access to drugs, health education and rehabilitation.

How You Can Help

By pledging to raise £3,000 over 12 months, you will make a real difference to the children and adults in your sponsored village.   The money you raise will be spent to ensure this vital work continues to change the lives of people with asthma, epilepsy and physical disabilities, often caused by malaria.

You do not have to do this alone.  We encourage you to work together with your family, friends, colleagues or community groups to raise the money.  You can also rely on support and advice from your local Sue Ryder Care Fundraiser.

You can read more about all of the villages in Malawi available for you to sponsor, which are listed within this section of the website.

You could be sponsoring a village like Chawanje or Kulanga...

How will you know you're making a difference?

Once you have committed to sponsoring a village, you will be kept informed with regular updates on the difference you are making every 3 months.

You will receive letters from the community, reports from the staff and volunteers and you’ll also have access to online video clips and photographs.

As a sponsor you will learn about:

  • Community clinics, which take place under trees to offer shade;
  • Journeys our volunteers make to reach those in need;
  • Children whose lives have been changed by Sue Ryder healthcare.
