Time to spare? We can fill it for you

19 February 2008

The Sue Ryder Care shop in Dunfermline want you to help them make a real difference to the lives of people living with life changing conditions such as Huntington's Disease, Acquired Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis and cancer.

Ann Burrell, Manageress at the Dunfermline shop said: "We are looking for volunteers who have any spare time on their hands, whether it's a couple of hours or a couple of days a week, to come in and help us.  There are many activities that you can get involved with from sorting through donated goods, rotating stock, designing fabulous window and shelf displays, manning the till and steaming the clothes."

Ann continued: "There are currently 29 million people who are affected by the life changing conditions that we care for, and our aim is to increase our hours of care from 4million to 10million over the next three years.  The money raised in the shop will help us towards this goal and will enable us to put back the dignity, independence and confidence that are taken away by the conditions we care for."

Volunteering is fun and really rewarding, whether people want to give something back because they have been touched by the charity or to add essential experience to their CV. There is a perfect reason for people of all ages to get in touch.

If you would like to volunteer in the Sue Ryder Care shop, 4 Chalmers Street, Dunfermline please pop in to see Ann - or give her a call on 01383 624950
