Art lovers invited to visit virtual gallery and support art liberating lives

26 February 2008

Art lovers who missed Sue Ryder Care’s Art Liberating Lives exhibition have a second chance to snap up an original piece they love.

All works which did not sell at silent auction at the charity’s exhibition at London’s prestigious Mall Galleries, in December, are now available for virtual viewing at All Trade Art’s website.
A host of works especially created for the event by artists from across the UK, including photography, sculpture and paintings, are all up for grabs at online gallery www.alltradeart.co.uk.

Victoria Glover, Head of Events at Sue Ryder Care, said: “Every sale will support Sue Ryder Care reach more people living with conditions including multiple sclerosis, Huntington’s disease, stroke and cancer. As well as supporting the charity, people can also find an original piece of art in a variety of mediums they can cherish. All people need to do is to visit the website.”

The pieces are all based upon the theme of ‘liberation’ and present a fascinating multitude of interpretations. Prices start at £16.

Art Liberating Lives is a national competition for artists of all ages and abilities. It reflects the importance of art as therapy in the charity’s care centres and hospices.

Some remarkable results are achieved as people are often able to express themselves in a way their condition may otherwise make difficult. A section of the 400 exhibits on display at the Mall Galleries was reserved for the people in the care of Sue Ryder Care.
