Festival that discovered Spielberg awards Sue Ryder Care

An international film festival that discovered the talents of Stephen Spielberg, Ridley Scott and George Lucas has awarded healthcare charity Sue Ryder Care with a prestigious fundraising film award.
 
The film: ‘Who Gives A Care’ picked up a ‘Platinum Remi’ in fundraising category at the 41st annual WorldFest - Houston’s International Film Festival.
 
Written and produced by Woking-based Orchard Communications to raise the charity’s profile by encouraging support and endorsement for Sue Ryder Care as ‘Charity of the Year’ for corporate supporters, the three minute film was praised for capturing the heart and breadth of Sue Ryder Care’s work with it’s well presented mini stories of people who benefit from the neurological and palliative care that Sue Ryder Care provides.
 
Speaking on behalf of Orchard Communications, Lucy Trendle said:
 
“The four mini-stories show the very real difference that Sue Ryder Care makes in giving people back their quality of life and impresses on the audience the importance of their support.
 
“The film features scenes from the Sue Ryder Care Neurological Care Centre – Dee View Court in Aberdeen and from Sue Ryder Care – St John’s Hospice in Bedfordshire and demonstrates the exceptional and unique care that the charity provides.
 
“Captions and graphics were added at edit stage to provide very relevant statistics showing the breadth of conditions that Sue Ryder Care provides for which include multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, brain injury, stroke and cancer.”
 
WorldFest is one of the oldest and largest film & video competitions in the world, with more than 4,500 category entries received from 37 countries in 2007.
 
Director of Marketing and Communications at Sue Ryder Care, Steve Taylor pointed to the significance of recognition at such a prestigious platform. He said:
 
“This award is a credit to the fantastic work that Orchard Communications have done in producing our DVD.
 
“The film captures the expert and compassionate care and support that Sue Ryder Care provides and highlights the need for ongoing support from a wide range of donors.”
